The Great Wall of Middle Head

At the public meeting last week, we presented an artist’s impression of a late addition to the developer’s proposal – a proposed heat shield (fire wall) 150 metres long and up to 3 metres high in parts, to be erected along the edge of the bushland on a ridge, which would block spectacular views of the harbour and be akin to the walls that already blight our freeways.

ABOVE: An artist’s impression of a section of the proposed heat shield. It is not necessarily the colour or finish, but is shown here to give an impression of the size and height. It is similar in appearance to some of the examples included in the original proposal.
